History is the road map of who we are and where we've been. It provides us with a deep understanding of the path to our future. The goal of the RJP Cultural Awareness Foundation's Verdland Park Recognition Project is to recognize the significant contribution Verdland Park contributed to the City of Layton, Davis County and the great State of Utah.
From 1943 through the late 1960's Verdland Park was home to many families brought to the area as troops in military service and civilians working at Hill Air Force Base supporting the war effort and then beyond. The construction of Verdland Park created unprecedented dynamic growth in the area and served to shape the great community we live in today.
Thank you to everyone who donated and provided support through your pictures and attendance at the dedication and recognition celebration for Verdland. The Ruby Jewell Price Cultural Awareness Foundation will continue to work on projects to enhance the City of Layton, State of Utah and Educational projects and opportunities for future educators. Please continue to give to allow us to continue the work. Thank You to each and every one. - Ruby J. Price (Grandma Ruby)
